Well yesterday I picked up two of my nephews while my sister-in-law was moving and my youngest sister and brother- in-laws also wanted to come over for the weekend. They all left tonight. As much as I love them I am thankful to be back to having two kids and I am thankful to not be moving. As fun as it is to be in a new house I like sticking to my old one just so I don't have to move.
Today Brandon and I took the 6 kids to the Laveen Parade. The kids seemed to all have a really good time. We sat right where the parade started so we got bombarded with candy...literally more candy than we got a Halloween. yuck. I can't find my camera anywhere so I have no pictures. I need to find that thing. After the parade we took the kids over to a park in the same area of the parade and spent about 2 hours playing around and Brandon flew his plane. We also took the kids to the neighborhood park on Friday evening so I feel like I now have house full of sand. yuck again. I was impressed to see Mayor Phil Gordon as part of the parade. He seems to be a good mayor. Boston loved seeing the police cars and the tractors at the parade and Carson was most impressed that the Laveen school principle was there and handed him a water bottle. He told me he knows the principle because at Christmas time his preschool class got to go in his office and sing him songs. He called him the "school boss."
Also today my sister Jennifer ran her first 1/2 marathon. I called to see how it went but she has yet to call me back so I'll have to check up tomorrow.
We taped President Hinckley's funeral services. Hopefully we'll get chance to watch that tomorrow night.
Now I have to get back to finishing primary stuff. I only have the agenda left and one part of the game so it shouldn't take to long. I'm still trying to get used to having everything ready on Saturday night because of early church. I do love having an early meeting time though!

Voting day
Well today I voted (early mail in ballot) I loved being able to vote and not have to stand in line! My vote is official. This will be an exciting election. May the best man (not woman) win! :)
Also, tonight I went to the local school community meeting. It was very interesting. I hope the community chooses to come together and do whats best for the interest of the children. I hope parents will take a stand on their children's education and become involved in the school programs making the school a safe and enjoyable place for their child to learn. I'm thankful I live in a community where education is available and free. I am thankful to teachers and administrators who want a better school and try to make a difference. Most of all I am thankful to the parents who are involved with the school and who choose to support the locals schools by giving of their time and talents. I am thankful to the parents who have chosen to continue to stay living in Laveen and work to make it a memorable place for their children to grow up. We are lucky to be here, surrounded by good people all fighting for the same cause.

A couple of weeks ago Costco had a coupon for their Kirkland brand mascara. I think the coupon was for $5 off so I thought I would try it. I've been using it the last week or so and I think it works great. Not to mention you get two in a pack and their pretty big tubes. So I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for mascara!

Happy Birthday To Boston
Boy do I remember his birth 2 years ago. After being 8 days late the Doctor said I needed to be induced so after being induced I figured it would go pretty fast. Not so, after four hours of labor the Doctor broke my water then after 5 additional hours later he was born. During his birth was the first time I learned to enact the Powers of Heaven. I didn't want an epidural but the pain was becoming so intense and I wasn't progressing. Brandon helped me visualize having assistance from above and within 20 minutes of visualizing Boston was born...no epidural and 9 previous hours of the drip stuff. It was amazing. Since then I have learned to utilize those Powers of different occasions. Boston is such an amazing little boy, its been the best being his mother. Another healthy, happy child. What more could I ask for?

SALT LAKE CITY 27 January 2008 President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through twelve years of global expansion, has died at the age of 97.
President Hinckley was the 15th president in the 177-year history of the Church and had served as its president since 12 March 1995.

The Church president died at his apartment in downtown Salt Lake City at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night from cause’s incident to age. Member of his family were at his bedside. A successor is not expected to be formally chosen by the Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles until after President Hinckley’s funeral within the next few days.
He was a remarkable man. The temples that were built, the Book of Mormon Challenge that was given, the Family Proclamation that was issued and countless other blessing that were bestowed upon the members of the church during his time. These are one of those moments where you feel extremely blessed as a member of the church. I know that President Hinckley is a true Prophet of God and he acts as the mouth piece for our Savior. Real Quick
FYI-- to the readers. I use this blog mainly as a journal for me and my posterity. So everything that is written may not be all that interesting, it might just be normal stuff from a normal day.
So tonight Brandon and I went to a unveiling of the new Family History website/process. It was very interesting and although the presentation was good the "product" (for lack of a better term) was amazing. I realized there is really no reason why I can't start family history work now. All you need is an internet connection. No more having to go to the family history centers. Our Temple district is one of the first few to start this and over the next 12 months all temple districts will convert to the new system. Pretty amazing what technology can accomplish.
Jennifer had the boys tonight. Sometimes I think it would be neat to move away and try things out in a different area of the U.S. But then I think of all the times family has helped us out and we have helped them out. I really enjoy living next to family and having the boys grow up with their cousins.

Where is my bed?
So last night I fell asleep on the couch waiting for Brandon to come home from scouts. I ended up sleeping for about 45 mins. When I woke up it was 8:45 and I was ready to go for the night. That's when I caught up on the blog, read tons of other blogs and researched a bunch of stuff on the computer. Close to mid night I finally forced myself to bed. Then the alarm went off at 5:10am and I was off to meet a friend to exercise. I thought I would be able to squeeze a nap in today but that didn't happen. After getting Carson off to preschool it was time to do all my errands I had been putting off...the bank, the post office, dropping this and that off etc. Then it was time to pick Carson up and run off to a couple of more places. After arriving back home and finishing lunch Brandon put me to work. A client from the Background check business needed about 30 searches done and I was the one to do it. I put Boston down for nap and had Carson call his friend to come over. When he called him the friend invited Carson to go over there! He loves going to friends houses so he was more than excited. After 3.5 hours I finally needed to stop the searches and start dinner. Carson came home from his friends house, Boston enjoyed a movie after his nap and I was able to help save Brandon some precious time. I learned some good lessons this afternoon.
1. I am thankful Carson got to get out of the house and play. I am thankful to parents that invite him over. I hope he behaves himself though.
2. I realized I don't need to be paranoid if my almost two year old watches a movie. It's OK. Sometimes it's necessary so I can get things done.
3. Computers stress me out. I don't know them well enough to feel like I can things done as quick as I need to.
4. Brandon is very patient with me when I get stressed and he's willing to take the time to walk me through things.
5. It's OK if I don't have dinner ready to go at 5pm. We ate at 6pm tonight and still had time to do the bedtime routine and have the boys in bed by 8pm. (1/2 hour later than normal but it was OK)
6. Brandon had to leave for an appointment right before dinner was ready. The conversations are much different when he's gone. Carson and I talked about his preschool day today. It was nice catching up with him.
7. Laveen needs to invest in a new post office. Every time I go there, no matter what time of the day, there is always a line. 4 years ago I could run in and out of there so fast. Not anymore.
It's 9pm and I have yet to practice the piano (which by the way I love taking lessons but I've learned I must practice everyday or I feel like I don't progress.), pick up the toys, start a load of laundry, sweep the kitchen floor from dinner and get to bed in a timely manner so I can get up early again for a good morning run!
One blessing though before I quit...after I realized a nap wasn't in the plans today I specifically prayed for energy to last throughout the day and I really feel like it was given to me. Amazing.
