The sun is back...almost!
Finally I can open my blinds and have the sun shine in! I'm never up more than 5 minutes before opening the blinds throughout the entire house, there's just something with the natural light coming in that seems to brighten the day. Since it's been gloomy the last two days I realized how much I miss the suns ray's resting on the table as we eat breakfast. But now it's back. So open your blinds and enjoy a "brighter" day!

Cinnamon role for breakfast, chocolate and cookie for mid-morning snack, pizza for lunch, more chocolate for afternoon snack...it must be the holidays mixed in with a little stress. And I wonder why I can't drop a pound after exercising 6 days a week for at least 60 minutes each day...go figure.
Merry Christmas! May you enjoy your chocolate too!

Where's the home ec teacher when you need her?
I got the boys to bed early so I could attempt to sew the aprons for our young women for the Stake trek in 2 weeks. I made a lot of progress and after re-threading the bobbin by myself and re-threading the needle (it literally took me 70 minutes as I have never done it before and had to read the owners manual over and over again to understand it) I was back to sewing. I only had the ties left to sew for each apron...no problem. As I started on the first tie I heard a snap, my stinking needle broke...the entire needle cracked in half. I didn't know this was possible, what do I do now? I think my tongue started bleeding from biting it so hard so I wouldn't say a few choice words.
Today I am thankful for people that sew my clothes...if it was left up to me I would have joined a nudest colony years ago. Yikes, there's a scary thought.

Pure heaven
Heaven today was sipping hot chocolate made with milk (instead of water) looking out the window watching the rain fall while skimming over a magazine. It was 15 minutes of pure relaxation.

I know this won't make sense but...
Have you ever blinked and there you are.
It's like life has happened and now you in a place where you thought you'd be when your "old" but your not "old" but just a little "older" than you were when you were 17? It's crazy to think I'm at where I'm at...this is for "old" people and I'm not old. Or am I? I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm at where I wanted to be and that's a good thing. I've blinked and now I feel like I'm here...time flies. Again, I need a bottle to hold everything and everybody in place for just a few moments longer so I can sit back and enjoy it before I blink again and find myself really "old".

Serenity Now
Oh my how the time flies...
The Christmas tree is up, lights are on the house and all four of the Christmas decorations are up around the house. Progress.
After attempting to help make five skirts for the stake trek that is coming up in a few weeks I realized I DON'T enjoy trying to do a project when I have no clue how to do it. Thank goodness for kind ladies in the ward that give of their time to help. After they left tonight I started to sew the aprons for the girls and after about 7 minutes my machine is jammed and because I have no clue how it works I have no clue how to fix it and it is to late to call anyone for help. I can officially say I'm a little ticked. After being in this calling for the last 90 days I can say I'm much more thankful for my young women's leaders, it can get a little harry at times. Luckily I have awesome counselors, secretary and adviser's who all pull their weight. I don't like saying "I'll be glad when the holidays are over" because it is the most special time of the year and I long to bask in the spirit of Christmas. However, it has been pretty hectic.
I think I defiantly over-scheduled myself this week and I'm hoping to hang on til the end without a nervous breakdown. For this too shall pass.
I wish I could bottle up my two year old and keep him forever as a two year old...I LOVE his little personality. He is so much fun. I can't get enough of him. And he can't get enough of the "lellow park"...he would live at this new park we found if I let him. I must go snuggle with him now...

Thanksgiving...
I enjoy this time of year for many reasons...
the change in weather
leaving the windows open around the house
the thought that Christmas in around the corner
people seem to be a bit nicer
wearing the winter sweaters
driving around with the windows down
enjoying the sun roof in the oh-so-cool mini van
and taking a special day to reflect on the many blessings from my Heavenly Father.
This thanksgiving we spent time with both sides of the family. Long day? yes, but enjoyable.
No pictures to show from our feasts, but I'm making improvements...I actually remembered to take my camera with me...I just didn't use it but an improvement non-the-less!
Christmas decorations went up Friday and after all was cleaned up we enjoyed a bike ride as a family in the crisp evening air.
Saturday brought "special project day" we all cleaned out the garage and I mean CLEANED it out. I'm taking a pile to D.I. on Monday and I would be more than happy to take your "pile" too...just let me know. We even scrubbed the entire 4-car garage floor on our hands and knees and washed all the walls..their was a purpose for our madness. And I'm excited to reveal that purpose in the up-coming weeks! The garage floor is so clean I'm considering serving Sunday on it. Want to join us? To end the day we enjoyed a Temple session with Brando's sister who is leaving soon for her mission to Winter Quarters. Exciting! Good session, wish I was in a better frame of mind. Tomorrow shall bring a new day. Hallelujah

Creative?
OK...so I know there is someone out there...maybe one of my three blog readers, who is dying to get their creative little fingers on my blog and make it "cute." And I am willing to let you! So...if anyone enjoys being creative and has nothing better to do than mess around with my blog I am totally willing to let you! I'm tired of the same-old background. I don't want anything fancy just something cute and fun. And yes, I am willing to compensate with the use of my time or the two talents I posses. Give me a call or leave a comment and we can discuss.

In the moment.
After another hectic week in life and with one more thing to do tonight we decided to step back and skip t-ball practice (sorry coach Steve) and spend a quick hour with each other before Pop's left for a few church assignments. May I say it was complete BLISS!
I spent the evening eating this: (Yummy organic beans and rice topped w/homemade guacamole, tomatoes and cheese)

Which turned into this: ("the two circus mans show" by buster and little buddy)
Brandon hopes their dreams of being circus performers quickly die off...or we might have a bearded lady as a daughter-in-law. Nevertheless we will still love her.
And this: (Buster doing his "poke" (aka pole) vaulting circus act)

To sum it up: Enjoying the B-E-A-Utiful evening watching two monkey's use their imagination while sitting next to:
Does life get any better? I think not. Today I'm grateful we let t-ball pass us by and we enjoyed our precious hour together.
p.s. If your wondering, yes, that is my two year old playing with a wooden stick which has a sharp pointy end. Dangerous? Maybe, but fun none the less. And if you think that's dangerous you should have seen the smile on his face the other day as he stood straight up in seat of the bike trailer yelling "we're gonna win" to his brother as I raced my bike down the street trying to beat Carson! That was dangerous...25 mph's in the back of a bike, no seat belt standing up. We had a blast.

What happens when...
your kids wake up a hour early?
1. You actually have time to eat breakfast...eggs and sausage
2. The phrase "hurry up" or "your gonna be let" doesn't exist
3. You get to take the kiddo to school in the bike trailer
4. You have time to ride 5 extra miles with the little brother enjoying the extra space in the trailer
5. Dishes are done and a double workout is complete and it's only 8am
Sounds like there will be time to once again attempt feeding the man eating geese at the local park!
Please pray for our safety.

Have you ever had those moments where it's like you just fall in love all over again? Friday night we were able to have a five hour date. It started off with dinner down town at a pizza place at the Arizona Center which was a pretty cool place in and of itself. Then we were off to "Time Out for Couples." It was awesome, we laughed and cried and laughed some more. Yes, when I say "we" that meant both of us. I think Brandon shed a tear. It was so enjoyable to sit close to one another and be rejuvenated in our sacred covenants we made with each other almost 9.5 years ago. I truly believe with Christ as our focus nothing is impossible for us as long as we work together. Although I'm learning that doesn't mean everything will be easy. :) I felt like that night I gained a greater and deeper love for Brando Commando and appreciate him even more. Looking back to when we got married I thought I loved him but now I realize I didn't even have the slightest idea of what love really was. I am learning that when we see each other at our worst, physically, emotionally, spiritually and have a desire to help each other and lift one another and don't give up that's when unconditional love starts to grow. We didn't have the opportunity to experience these stages of growth in our seven month courtship many years ago.
Does this mean everything is perfect? No, don't get the wrong idea. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for blessing me with my companion and pray that he will help me continue to develop unconditional love for Brandon so that our marriage might be blessed eternally. I defiantly know it takes a lot of humbling on my part...and I have a long way to go. Brandon, please be patient but know I love you.
Saturday started with a 8am yoga class to benefit Nie. It was taught be her friend and was a really good class. It's held every Saturday morning at 8am in Mesa if anyone would like to go let me know cause I would defiantly go again. From the yoga class I went straight to Carson's T-ball game. Then we came home and actually sat on the back porch for about 30 minutes as we watched the kids play...that was a bit of heaven. The weather was perfect, the kids were happy and we were just able to enjoy the moment. Then it was off to help Brando's sister move in just a few miles away from us. We were able to stay a good chunk of the day and offer service as a family, although Brando did have to slip out for a few hours to do some work. From there we came right home showered ate and headed off the the stake center for a fireside. We were able to take the kids and it worked out good as we both had to be there. I think the kids had a really good time. It was a true "fireside" as we were hanging out by a fire the entire night. What boy doesn't like that!
This morning I taught yoga again and the little Boss woke up extra early. I was in heaven as we laid down in relaxation the last few minutes of the class and he laid his head on my chest. For a brief moment it was like I was taken back two years and it reminded me of when he was a baby and would always lay is head on my chest and fall asleep. Oh the memories, how sweet they are.
Last but defiantly not least...Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the Veterans. With out your service I'm convinced I wouldn't have the life I have. My most sincere appreciation goes to you and your families as you serve our country honorably. Thank you for giving your life so I can raise my children in a country that is built on the principles of freedom and blessed by the hand of God. May this country always be watched over and may we as citizens not forget what America stands for and who has placed us here and preserved this scared land for our inheritance at this time. May those serving locally and throughout the world be blessed with peace and safety and their families also. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

A long and hard fight
Interesting election.
I had a few healthy debates with the spouse. Sometimes we saw eye-to-eye and sometimes we didn't. None the less I'm grateful to live in a country that I can vote and voice my opinion.
Now we will take down on prop 102 signs in the front yard. I'm sure who ever stole our previous one would be more than happy to help take down the TWO new ones that replaced the stolen one. Oh yea, maybe they saw the message on the two new ones let by the spouse: "Smile, your on camera. If you steal this sign I will prosecute you." The message seemed to work, no more signs were taken! Don't you love freedom of speech.
May God bless America.

Today didn't quite turn out as planned, but why not make the most of it, right?
To spare the details this day was supposed to be one of pj's, movies and 409. You see somewhere between the last 5 days a toy, laundry, dish and clutter bomb went off and I have ignored it too long. Last night I went to bed with dinner dishes still on the table because we ate then ran out of the house for a good ol' fashioned game night with friends we don't see very often. We stayed out too late and were too tired to clean up. So today Boston and I were planning on not getting dressed, he had a plethora of movies to choose from and I had a full bottle of 409 ready to be sprayed. Then we woke up...Brandon needed our help. That meant showers and clothes. yuck. The laundry was so over do I even had to put dirty clothes on Boston. I know gross but it was better than going out in public in a diaper. By 9:30 we were off. I decided not to get irritated but to enjoy driving around the valley while singing "I'm Bringing Home a Baby Bumblebee" 84 times with my two year old. We even stopped for a lunch date together and it wasn't McDonald's! Tables and chairs were involved. It was quite enjoyable to have a one-on-one conversation with the little guy and he was well behaved. We talked about everything from Thomas the Train to Elmo to counting all the napkins on the table. As much as I long to hold a precious new baby of my own and have three little munchkins to help around the house I basked in the moment with my current "baby". He's was so much fun to hang out with. Thanks Boston for helping me to avoid the 409 bottle and share a yummy toasted Quizno's sand which with you, I had so much fun!

Halloween 2008!
It's a miracle...there are pictures on my blog! I finally got my camera fixed, it's been broke since February. I'm sure excited to have it back right in time for the Holiday's.
We enjoyed our Halloween day...even though I and to physically feed my kids dinner, yes I shoved it down their throat, constantly remind them the candy in the bucket wasn't for them but for the trick-or-treaters, and force them to stop eating the candy and go to bed.
Thanks to "marmie" (aka grandma) for coming out and spending our Halloween with us! Thanks for the candy also...we can never have too much of it!
Carson was Darth Vader...shocker I know. He enjoyed wearing his costume and dressing up while collecting all the candy he could.
Then there was Boston in Thomas the Train. He was in heaven. I'm starting to think he worships Thomas. He has slept with the costume since we got it on Wednesday. He wasn't in the mood to get his picture taken so this is the best I could do. I do have to say he was soooo cute and excited to wear Thomas.
We were able to collect lots of candy from the neighbors then walk down a few houses to a fun Halloween party that the kids really enjoyed! Needless to say we were all very ready for bed.

It was a crummy afternoon yesterday...but again while driving and being really irritated I tried to think of blessings. Low and behold there were some...
1. I found a last minute babysitter
2.There was light traffic as I hurried home from Scottsdale
3. Brandon accomplished an errand for me
4. Friends who are willing to give of old Halloween costumes

The beauty in today was watching Boston ride up and down the sidewalk on his tricycle. You see, he got the trike for Christmas last year and rides it everyday but just in the last few days he has figured out how to use the pedals. His excitement is enthralling. Today as I sat outside and cheered him on as he taught me a great lesson..."Never give up, someday you'll get it."

Because of not feeling well I've taken the last two weeks off yoga...however, I'm back now!

I needed this... a date with my boys. Being so sick I didn't spend any fun time with boys over the past week but today was different. I picked up Carson early from school much to his surprise and the three of us headed out for a day of fun and fun is what we had! Then they were able to go with me to teach my yoga class tonight and we didn't get home until 7pm. We we're gone all day and I really enjoyed this "mother/sons" date. Today I'm thankful for being able to spend the entire day outside and laugh with my two boys.

Happiness is...
Listening to two little boys giggle as they play in their "fort" made under the dining room table.
Sure it looks like a tornado hit our living and dining room but I'd rather enjoy the tornado while listening to giggles than having a very clean yet quiet home.

The Pumpkin Man
Yesterday Brandon was out working and Boston was still playing with his cousins so it was just me and Carson hanging out. We were able to work together on a school project he had. We turned his pumpkin in to a "Pumpkin Man" and together we wrote a cute little poem about this man. I relished in watching his creative side come out and spending a good uninterrupted hour side by side. We both need that. My joy this day was seeing him as he learns and grows. It was fun to just hangout and laugh with my not-so-little boy.

Trials ='s Blessing
So when I wrote the last post I had intentions of writing daily blessings. I really believe amongst trials, big or small, there is always blessings, big and small. I want to remember those blessings and realize how the Lord works in my life. Sadly I let time get in the way. I want to change my days so that they are not based around time limits but are based around timeless memories.
As I'm sitting here doing nothing, absolutely nothing, with no children I thought this would be a prefect opportunity to catch up...
Trial: I have been sick all week...I have a infection that if I'm not careful will quickly become spinal meningitis. I had spinal meningitis 10 years ago and never want to experience that again. It has not been a good week needless to say but I am confident the medication and blessing given to me will rid my body of the bacteria.
Blessings: 1. Dinner from a friend who totally brought it on her own without being asked. I was asleep and woke up to have Brandon tell me dinner had been brought. When I opened the fridge I couldn't help but to shed tears at the thoughtfulness of this busy person. 2. A friend who showed up to take Boston for how ever long was needed, putting no time constraints on the day. 3. Then my sister who called and took Boston for the remainder of the day and night and next day and still has him so I can recover. 4. My sister who offered to drive 2 hours to take both boys for the weekend. 5. A friend that had both boys for several hours one night and fed them dinner then has picked up Carson each day after school and kept him until bed time. 6. A mother who came over and brought "remedies" to help the sickness, did the dishes and folded laundry. 7. A R.S. president that has brought a meal and arranged for additional meals to be brought in. 8. A husband who hasn't complained at all while I lay in bed and moan, whine and cry at the pain I feel. Not to mention he's dressed the boys each morning, bathed them, got breakfast ready, did homework and site words with Carson, fixed lunch and still managed to keep up on his work load and prepare his talk for the ward he's speaking in on Sunday. 9. The helpful advice from doctors and the beauty of modern medicine.
As you can see the blessing far out way the trial.
Trial: Getting to the Relief Society broadcast on time, finding a babysitter, having the boys fed and ready for bed....Brandon had to be there that night to help with dinner, thus it left me having to pay $15 for a babysitter to attend this broadcast.
Blessings: I got to spend a few moments in the car with Brandon as we drove up there. I was able to listen to some very inspiring messages that I wish to never forget. I walked out of there feeling like the Lord does love me and I am apart of His plan. I had good conversation with others in the stake and it made me appreciate more that I live where I live. It was more than worth the money and hassle spent.
Trail: Getting the boys to be reverent during General Conference.
Blessings: We were able to spend an entire weekend home as a family. The boys were able to see the Prophet and other General Authorities. Having them sit on our laps for longer than 10 seconds. They enjoyed a weekend with their cousin who was here staying a few nights with us.
Trail: New Calling
Blessings: Learning the voice of the spirit. Learning organizational skills and striving to obtain leadership skills. Seeing the Young Women progress towards a happier more Christ-centered life, obtaining Temple blessings. Finding joy as the prepare now for a successful future in motherhood and marriage.
Blessings always out way the trials although it's not easy to see in the moment. I know this to be true. The Lord did not place us here to be miserable but "that we might have joy."
As I'm sitting here doing nothing, absolutely nothing, with no children I thought this would be a prefect opportunity to catch up...

Turning over a new leaf.
It's never to late to change right? In light of this question and all that seems to be happening lately I have decided to change. Hopefully change for the better. When I shall leave this mortal existence I want to be remembered as a Christ-like woman, one who loved the Lord, who had an enlightening spirit about her. I want to be remembered as being genuinely kind, helpful and happy. Thus I will take these moments in life and record why they make me happy. Why certain happenings in life are not a trial but a blessing, a blessing that allows me to evolve into someone more humble and kind.
Let me start with today. Today my eternal love taught me a humbling lesson. I will forever be indebted to him for his kindness and acceptance of me and my shortcomings. He is my greatest example of humility and unconditional love. Today my love for him stretched further than before. Thank you Brandon. I Love you.

You're Invited!
As you may or may not know I have taken an interest and liking to yoga over the past while. I've received training and knowledge in this area and feel blessed I have found something that I enjoy and am passionate about.
On the same note of blessings I feel there are people in my life who have so graciously shared their knowledge and talents with me and now I want an opportunity to pay them back by "paying it forward."
Thus the point of this post...
I am starting a women's yoga class every Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 5:15 am - 6:15am at my house for no charge. You are welcome to invite neighbors, friends or who ever you think will benefit from a challenging yet energizing work out. Bring a yoga mat or towel, a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing. This class is open to any "body" beginning or advanced. Come through the side gate and email me at jmeryhew at cox dot net or call with any questions or if you need directions. I'll start this class tomorrow...9/23. Spread the word! See you bright and early!

So what to write...
Last week we went to San Diego for a wedding. We hung out on the beach for two days, took our bikes and sand toys and the boys were completely satisfied the entire time. The drive over and back was pleasant, the hotel was decent and a great price. Overall it was a much needed break from reality and we had a really great time just hanging out as a family. Some day I'll post pictures.
Not sure what else I should say, all subjects on my mind seem to be touchy...schools, politics, friends, family. money etc...
I do have to say Carson's school has more the exceeded my expectations. His teacher is awesome and was even kind enough to come support him in the primary program this past Sunday. We are really praying for a missionary experience for our entire family. Carson was so thrilled to have her there although he acted very embarrassed.
This election is crucial to our families, our economy and the overall welfare of our near future. There are a few propositions on the ballot here in Arizona that can have a long lasting detrimental impact. Sometimes I wonder if anyone is following the presidential election or what's on our state ballot. The lack of knowledge and/or interest regarding this country and our immediate community is almost saddening consider what we're told regarding the importance of where we live as taught in the Doctrine and Covenants.
Friends...I'll comment some other time
Family...I don't want to paint a unrealistic picture and I'm not trying to do that. However at this time in my life I can't be more thankful to be married to the person I'm married to.
Money...sometime in life you begin to realize what's import and what's a complete waste of money
Time...again, sometime in life you begin to realize what's import and what's a complete waste of time. I try to analyze my time often and see how it could be better spent and when there's an extra minute or two in the day are those moments spent doing something that will increase my love of the Savior or pull me further under Satan's influence. It's crazy to think how many ways Satan's influence can slowly creep into one's life. Not to mention...are extra minutes spent strengthening my own testimony, my family and my community?
That's all for tonight.

Darn School
So yesterday I pick Carson up from school and he's soooo excited...I say what's going on, did you have a good day? He replies "Guess what mom, today was the BEST day of my life!" Of course I ask "why" hoping for a response like "I learned so many things today" or "I got to be the big helper" or "I realized how much I love you"... I know that would have been a stretch. Anyhow he quickly responds "we had an assembly today and if you spend lots of money buying stuff I can win an ipod and these speaker things that you put your ipod on and they light up. It's so cool can you put my name on the papers and buy lots of stuff right when we get home?" This is where I start cursing the school under my breath as we drive home. So after all I've done for this kid, the treats at the grocery store, the trips to the zoo and museums, the movie theatre, the family vacations, the bike rides, the trip to Disneyland the list goes on and on.... all in vain. I was trying to make his childhood days so memorable and all it took to have the best day of his life was a freaking school assembly? Give me a break...talk about pumping up a kid and sending them home high on hopes. I guess this will be his first experience of great success as a salesmen or a reality check of what the real word is really like. Yikes, he's to young for this it's only kindergarten! So with that said...anyone looking for some great holiday cans of peanut brittle for your co-workers? I know a great salesmen, just reply by Sept 8th!

Just another update...
I used to read blogs...not to much anymore but one day I'll get back to it. So please don't be offended if I don't know whats going on in your life, I'll read your blog eventually.
Carson still loves school. Boston still misses his brother.
Today was the worst day at church. My kids were out of control and I went out three times during sacrament meeting. Brandon was only there for the first 30 minutes and then he had to leave for a meeting and in that short time he even had to take Boston out once. My sister and brother-in-law were there and that made it even more embarrassing. Needless to say we got home and ate lunch, Boston didn't eat a thing he just fell asleep in his chair. Sorry to all the ward members for all the commotion and chaos caused by my screaming children today. I think I can guess that our family home evening will be on reverence tomorrow.
I finished reading Breaking Dawn the last of the Twilight series. I'll keep my opinions to myself as I know there are a lot of people who haven't read it or are still reading it. It took me three long weeks to finish it. Now I can finally cross it off on the "to do" list. Hallelujah.

Tidbits of info...
So I've been really bad at updating the blog lately. For anyone who cares here is some stuff going on in our lives...
Carson LOVES school. Wow, what a relief. He can't wait to go each morning. Never once have I had to force him to get ready or hurry up...if you know Carson this is a big deal. I love his classroom and teacher. He's come home everyday with a new art project they've done. I can't believe how much he has caught on to in the last 8 days. He has met great new friends and he talks about them a lot. I was able to help in the classroom this week and it was fun watching him interact with the other kids. He's more of a class clown than I expected he would be, hopefully the silly side of him doesn't get him in trouble! Anyway over all every body's happy with the choice.
Boston is still lost without his brother. Although he's getting better at playing by himself. He had a friend over this week and I noticed he treated his friend as Carson treats him...telling him everything to do and play with. It was cute to watch them interact. He hurt his toe a few weeks ago pretty badly and then his toenail had to be taken off cause it was just hanging by a thread. So now on his big toe he has no toenail and likes to show everyone. His therapist came yesterday and he took her into the bathroom and showed her what fell on his toe and why he now has an "boo boo". Were having fun together. I was planning to take him to the library for story time but while I was getting ready he feel asleep on my bedroom floor. That's a first.
Brandon's been busy with work and his latest thing is golfing on Saturday mornings. I think he's trying to take advantage of the cheap golf during the summer...whatever. I feel like I can't complain about him going though because he works his tail off so much I know he needs an outlet.
I'm still trying to get used to this one kid thing. Let me just say it is soooo much easier to take one kid out than two. I don't know why but it just is. Not to mention I have gotten dressed almost everyday the last two weeks, that itself is a miracle. I don't know what it is but having one kid at home makes me feel like I'm getting things accomplished. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have another baby here with Boston but I do have to admit I'm really bonding and enjoying just being with Boston.
All in all things are well every body's happy and healthy. The Lord is really blessing us in so many ways. I hope each day I can remember and recognize the trials that come our way are great opportunities to boost our faith and turn them into future blessings.

The end has come.
Who would have ever thunk choosing a school for your kindergartner would be a year long process. Yet this process has come to a close and as of Monday I will drive my child to the "great and spacious building" known as school. It makes the phrase ring true..."He's going to heck in a hand basket." (I'm learning to watch my language :) ). I feel like this is such a turning point in our lives but none the less Carson is very excited and I think he will have so much fun. And I have to remember that it's not his fault he is getting bigger and has to leave his mothers gentle, tender (well sometimes) care to enter a whole new world of death and despair. Just kidding...I'm quoting movies now...OK back to reality, this next few weeks will bring a lot of changes, the biggest one being that I will have to have my hair and make-up and shower done by 7am! Luckily I only have to do this for the first few days and then I can let the teacher see the real me...sports bras and sweaty pits at that time in the morning. I bet she can't wait! And the major change for Carson is the fact that he'll have to wake up before 7:30am, get dressed and comb his hair everyday...no more hats. He's gonna hate this part. He's like me and only likes to have his hair combed on Sundays. I think they'll be a lot of tears this next week over the hair.
Wish us luck!
Wish us luck!

Oh....how I long for you, Prescott...
No, Prescott is not an old boyfriend I am longing for, just a wonderful place I would like to live at someday.
I was up there last weekend and the beginning of this week. The weather was perfect, the scenery gorgeous, and the company (aka family) was kind.
Brandon had a business trip to Las Vegas so I decided to bail on Phoenix while he was gone. Actually I just didn't want to stay home alone. He just got home thankfully all in one piece. And he said the place is nasty... not family friendly. Scratch that off the family vacation list. OK back to Prescott. So went had a picnic (we includes me, two boys, my sister & her daughter) at the downtown plaza and also saw a reenactment of the wild wild west with real guns and cowboys on Whiskey Row, that was fun. The boys and I enjoyed a nice drive through the forest and mountain pines, my sister and I enjoyed a nice 90 min walk through her very hilly neighborhood. (Hilly in this context mean mountainous roads, not to be confused with hilly as in "hill-billy" neighborhood) We hung out watched a chick flick and had a very nice time all-in-all. It's nice to be back home. But hopefully one day we can call Prescott home. Thanks Jeaniece for making it a great week.

Help...someone...please...
It's only 10am and I'm already really ticked off.
I'm irritated by our insurance company and the doctor's office. Brandon's sick and I just need to make an appointment for him but they are all booked up until next week and their fee because of our insurance is $200. $200 for a 15 min visit? Irritating. Not to mention he is like 50 minutes away from us. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a primary care physician on the west side or closer to down town? I really need to find a family doctor closer to our house. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Random Thoughts...
I could spend eight hours laying by the pool and be perfectly happy.
I love having one or both of the boys sleep in my bed with me, I don't think Brandon can say the same.
I sometimes dream of being a beach bum
I've had no desire to work or clean the last 7 days
I love the smell of freshly cut grass
Why is it that the law mower & weed eater break on the same day the grass needs cutting and the notice that the tags are due on the truck comes in the mail... does it look like the money tree is blooming in the backyard?
I love getting tan
I can't believe I'm old/mature enough to have a child in school this year
I sometimes think about quitting blogging
I don't mind living in the heat
I'm glad I'm married
Sometimes the boys say the funniest things
I cherish my boys
The trampoline is totally broken from the sun
I love when Brandon doesn't have to work on a Saturday
I really believe in most situations that "ignorance is bliss"
I'd like a big huge picture of the Temple someday...any Temple for the living room
I should practice the piano more often
I finished reading Doctrine and Covenants today...a goal I've had for a while now
I haven't worn make up all week and it feels great
I've only washed my windows once since we've lived here...yuck, oh well
The internet is running really slow and it's getting annoying
I sometimes think Brandon lives for Wednesday night basketball
I really like my home and feel completely blessed to live in it
I hope to raise many kids here
I'm thankful I don't have stairs
I love eating fruit.
Good night

Back to Reality
So I'm home from girls camp and I have no pictures to prove it...surprise, surprise. I had a great time, glad I went in the calling I was in...assistant camp craft director, glad to not be a cabin mom and I realized I never want to be a Camp Director, talk about some major work. I survived on very little sleep, no morning exercise and unhealthy eating but it was all worth it at about 10pm when the "leaders" cabin would no longer have any responsibility and we would just sit around and laugh and laugh and laugh until my throat hurt. We were labeled as "The wild bunch".
It was great to come home to a clean house and happy kids...thanks to Brandon for all his hard work and to my sister for watching the kids on Friday! Now I must get back to my 31 loads of laundry...at least that is what it feels like.

...one year older and wiser too...
If you know the primary song you'll recognize that line above.
I might be one year older as of today but I can't vouch for one year wiser, unfortunately. So today was a great birthday, it started off great by sleeping in until 9am. Yes people that's 9am! It felt so great. Thanks goes to Brandon for taking care of the hungry munchkins while I drifted away in my peaceful slumber. After waking up I was convinced the two year old made the bowls of cereal, I should have taken a picture of the kitchen...yikes.
The kitchen wasn't the only surprise I awoke to...brace yourselves ladies and let me tell you the miracle that happened today. I wake up to find two professionally wrapped boxes on the counter. Knowing today is my birthday the thought crossed my mind, "I wonder if those are for me" I quickly dismissed the idea thinking it was highly unlikely. You see, I have a wonderful husband, however planning ahead for special celebrations like birthdays, mothers day, anniversary's is not his forte. I figured he'd run out today grab what he could and call it good...although I thought we had an understanding of no presents this year. OK...back to my story, so Carson sees me and says "open your presents mom" after I pick up my jaw from off the floor I opened the beautifully wrapped boxes to find two new church appropriate dresses and they both are the right size! Once I finished breathing into the handy paper bag and calmed myself down I threw my arms around this man and gave him a death grip hug! He, himself went online, picked out a few samples, got a second opinion from my sister, brought them, had them wrapped, wrote a special message on the card and had them shipped so they would be here in time for my birthday!!! I couldn't be happier or more shocked! The lesson learned here ladies...NEVER LOOSE HOPE! You can teach an old dog new tricks. "...He can be taught..." (good line from a good movie). If your husband lacks in the preparation department, don't give up. It's only taken 9.5 years, 9 anniversary's, 9 birthday's 5 mother's days and so forth but this birthday was worth the wait! All my thanks goes to Brandon for his effort and thoughtfulness. You are amazing. And for all the ward members, you will now see me in something more than my one brown dress and two skirts that I always switch off wearing. HOORAY!
OK ...so the rest of my birthday was great and I have lots of pictures to prove it but I will have to wait until later to post them as I must get to bed!
Do you know this guy?
Gun ruling today: "a landmark victory for Second Amendment freedom." - McCain
I'm not a huge McCain fan but I do believe today's ruling in D.C. was a significant win. I appreciate Mr. Becks views on this topic and so many others that are discussed daily. After listening to him several times now I think I have a new best friend. Am I getting older or what? Scary. May the Second Amendment always stay enforced and may the American public be wise and take precautions if choosing to have guns in the home. You go Glenn!

Why can't everyday be like today?
The day started off by sleeping in until 6:30am. Got two loads of laundry done. Showered by 8am, fun yoga session at 9am then off to the spa for three different treatments. Husband gave me a gift certificate for my birthday last July, yes July of '07 and I never used it until today. It was expiring in the next few days so I got on the ball made an appointment and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon by having a wonderful massage, spa pedicure and spa manicure. Oh they joy. I even choose to dive in to the wonderful world of Hollywood and caught up on the stars latest and greatest moments by reading the piles of trash talk and gossip that filled the corners of the very much "worldly" salon in downtown Tempe. Oh, how I realized myself, a twenty something -stay at home mother - is so out of touch with "normal life." The topics buzzing around the modern salon mentioned nothing of diapers, poop, kindergarten, home decor, wards, service or anything of the like. There was talk of men, women, drinking, sex, mention of "feel good stuff" -whatever that means and how kids always get in the way of life. I realized I love massages and some day will have them done on a weekly basis and I'm thankful to come back home to my "reality", I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you Brandon for the gift...I promise to use the '08 present in '08.
P.S. Thanks mother for watching the boys so I could get this done!

Brotherly love
Last night the boys and I were at a meeting for a new school and Brandon had left after we did for a church meeting. When the boys and I got home we realized some things weren't right before we even got in the house. To make a long story short, I wouldn't let the boys go in the house and Carson was listening to a conversation I was having with Brandon and the word "police" kept being said. After I hung up my cell phone and as were in the waiting outside our house Carson starts crying and says "I don't want to die." (I learned a good lesson here...when I'm panicked, don't let the kids know because with Carson A type personality he becomes every freaked out very easily) Anyhow I calmed him down and let me know everything is going to be alright. By this time we're headed to a neighbors house...for one purpose only, I know he has a gun...thanks goodness for the right to bear arms, may this amendment never be altered...back on track...I look in the rear view mirror and Carson is stretching his hand out to Bostons and as they are holding hands Carson says to him "Buddy, I'll protect you. I won't let you die. I'll die so you can live. Don't worry buddy I promise I'll protect you." These two boys have a relationship like no other I've seen. I really know that these feelings Carson had for Boston during this time were true. He loves his brother more than life itself. I know they were close brothers long before they ever came to earth.
I had to write this down so that when they are 15 and 13 and at each others throats I can read this to them and help them remember how they once felt about each other. :)
Thank you to our neighbor (you know who you are) for being a great neighbor and if any one's wondering...no one died last night, all is well.

What can one week bring...
Releasing from current callings for my husband and I, two new callings, one for each of us, a 31st birthday to the man of the house a 5th birthday for the first born, three morning runs while it's 95 degrees outside, a determination to start a garden, record payment at the gas pump, not more than 5.5 hours of sleep per night, a yoga session with my husband that was more than hilarious, and four extra pounds.
Now to expound (if you don't like details stop here)
After 2.5 year Brandon said goodbye as the 1st counselor in the Bishopric, there are somethings I believe he'll miss, more things he won't miss but most of all he got a small snip it of what a Bishop deals with and said he never would wish that responsibility on anyone. He will miss working closely with the Bishop and has found that he was called by God and respects the mantle that is carried by him. He's excited to be a dry, oh I mean high counselor.
After 2.5 years of enjoying many of your little darlings I am sad to say goodbye to the children in primary. I will especially miss their excitement to learn new songs (or lack of excitement if you're an 11 year old boy) their encouragement ("Sis Meryhew, My mom sings better than you but keep trying) and their honesty ("do you have a baby in your tummy?" as to which I replied "No" "oh, your belly's just big?"). Don't fret parents, don't be embarrassed for me. Cause it may have been your child that prayed for you during opening exercises to "Not watch so much TV" or "to not spank me everyday" or "cook something we'll want to eat" or "stick to her diet". Now it's on to compassionate service, I guess the Lord figured it's never to late to teach me to have compassion.
Brandon celebrated number 31. He kicked off his big day with a 9am Real Estate course...exciting... then worked until dinner time. He was served with chicken and steak kabobs (yummy...yes, grilled by yours truly) mashed potatoes with country gravy, spinach salad, garlic cheese bread and a homemade Oreo ice cream cake to wash it down. Then off to the new church to help move in and closed out the night with a good game of church ball...his favorite.
Carson celebrate number 5. Where does the time go? I think after five years his 9.1 pound body has finally recovered from coming out an area that felt like it was 2 inches wide. His mother has yet to recover. He celebrated with a BOYS only star wars party. I still feel like I need to send out apologies to those friends and family members of his that are girls. If your child is female and has what you thought was a good "friendship" with my son, please don't take it personally your child was not invited. No female was, not even his own mother. I was not allowed to participate in the festivities only provide them. He did say "this was the best party ever" so I guess that was worth all the potentially ruined female relationships we might have to mend over the next couple of months.
95 degrees at 5:13am...time to move the morning runs back an hour to 4:13am. I'm afraid I'll pass out from heat exhaust and be eaten by the stray pit bull I've see the last three mornings roaming my running trail.
Yes, I will have a garden ready for fall. Pretty exciting...please let me know if you have tips as my green thumb fell off while killing my first plant nine years ago.
$72 for gas and I have a mini van, supposedly cheaper than an SUV? Ouch.
Two birthdays, 75 hours of work, a messy house, when is there time to sleep?
Ok, so Brandon said "Yoga's not a real workout" I told him to put his money where is mouth is. Monday morning was his first session, now he can't pay up his owed money because he is so sore from my Sargent-like training he can barely get out of bed and make any money. Two things he learned 1. He is NOT flexible. 2. The meaning of vinyasa.
Two birthday's with junk food + no sleep + 2 can's of Dr. Pepper (I usually drink about 6 a year) + stress ='s 4 gained Lb's. Diet starts Monday!

I realized I didn't journal about our 9th anniversary outing. Thanks to Heidi for watching the boys. We went to Claim Jumper (mainly for the desert) and I ate way to much, nothing new there. Then we went to a movie called "Emma Smith, My Story" it was only playing at one theater in the entire valley but totally worth the drive. It was such a great movie and depicted the life of Emma Smith very well. After learning more of her struggles, trials and heartache I feel like I have nothing to complain about and I walked out of the movie wanting to be a better person. We realized we need to go on dates more often...once every six months doesn't cut it. We really enjoyed spending time together.
My mom came and stayed Thursday night and Friday with the kids. That was really nice. I was able to go to a school meeting and enrichment for the first time in a very long time and I didn't have to pay a babysitter! Then on Friday she watched Boston while I taught yoga and then took both boys out for a few hours while I stayed home and worked. I always forget how much computer work I can get done when I have no interruptions. That was a really nice treat and I got caught up once again on some of the business books. Of course Carson came back with new stuff my mom had gotten him for his upcoming birthday. I know he had a great time. Then she also watched them while I headed off to a baby shower and stayed with them until Brandon came home from our stake Temple session. Thank you mother for spending time with the boys they really enjoyed it and had tons of fun.
Then today we went to the Bingham's to celebrate 4 family birthdays in June and Father's day for all the brother-in-law's and my dad. That was a fun time. Again, Carson came home with way too much birthday stuff...time to clean out the playroom and dispose of the unused treasures in there...only problem is I have to do it when a certain child is sleeping or there are way to many tears. See, I've learned something over the years...never put toys in the "give away" bag when your children are looking.
I've got to get to bed because I was up WAY to late at the baby shower...sorry again Stacy for staying around so long...it was really nice just hanging out.

My Knight and Shining man to the rescue...and it's not my husband!
So I don't have any real good poop stories regarding my kids...you know the ones where the kids smears poop all over the wall, or the kid has a mouth full of poop from a leaking diaper...those types of stores. I didn't have a good one until today. It's after dinner I am cleaning up and realize Boston is really quite, too quite. I call for him and out he comes from our guest room saying "mama, mama." I come around the corner to find a big chuck of something on his foot. Lo and behold it was poop. A big nasty chuck of green grossness. This is where I begin to panic...not the carpet, please not the carpet...I walk into the guest room to find, yes you guessed it...green nasty grossness on the carpet. You see our home is 75% tile...easy to clean up but did he poop on the tile? NO, he chose the blessed carpet. After I swallowed the vomit that had come up (I know, gross but true) I quickly let out a panic scream then gathered my senses and grabbed the precious child by one arm and one ankle and ran him into the bathroom where I proceeded to hold back the vomit as I wiped his cute little tan rear, legs, back, arms, neck, knees, ankles and feet then quickly threw him in the bath. That was the easy part, now what do I do with the carpet? You see, any easy fix would be to call my sweet husband and say "honey, I need your help"...as I proceed to do this he's letting me know his appointment is waiting at the door and he's "outta here." I don't even know if he realized what had just happened. This is where my knight-in-shining armor comes in. Remember the "clean freak" brother in law? Well guess who happened to be at our house just at the right time...you guessed it, the clean freak. And to my amazement that poop was cleaned up even before I was finished bathing Boston. This man was heaven sent. He scrubbed those carpets better than they've ever been. I now have a guest room with beautiful cream colored carpet once again (minus the previous stains that have been there for months...one day the carpets will be professionally cleaned). Dustin, you're amazing. My life has been forever changed by your kind deed. To you I am in a debt of gratitude. Not only did you save my carpet you also saved my toilet from needing a cleaning because there defiantly would have been puke in it if I was the one cleaning it up.
The good Lord knows me well, he knows what I can and cannot handle and that is why he blessed me by having my brother-in-laws Dustin there at the precise moment. I am truly a blessed woman. Jeaniece, do you realize the gem of a man you married? You're one lucky duck!

9 Years!

Today we celebrate nine years of blissful marriage. I thought I would list nine reasons why I love Brandon...here it goes and in no particular order...
1. He is respectful and patient
2. He has desire to support our family
3. His mild manner temperament
4. His love for our children
5. His talent at the piano
6. His love for the gospel
7. His sense of humor (most people don't know this side of him but he's pretty funny)
8. His desire to serve (his family and the Lord)
9. His love for me
I'm reading this book called No One Can Take Your Place by Sheri Dew. In a chapter she writes that on President and Sister Hinckley's 59th anniversary Sis Hinckley said "It has been fifty-nine years of heaven on earth." I echo those same words. It has been nine years of heaven on earth. I am thankful we got married young enough that I feel like in many ways we've matured and grown up together. I have found peace and joy in marriage and I know Heavenly Father has blessed me in this aspect of my life. I always say "he may not be a perfect person, but he is a perfect match for me."
Happy Anniversary Brandon, I Love you more than words can express!

Fun Family Activity
So Brandon had to work today and the weather was so nice I couldn't keep the boys inside all day. I decided to take advantage of the beautiful South Mountain Preserve that is basically out our door step.
I found this trail called the Judith ________ (i don't remember the last name of the lady) trail. It is located off Central Ave south of Dobbins. It's as short as a 1/2 mile or as long as 2 miles depending on how far you go. It's easy, nicely graded, perfect for strollers or toddlers who want to walk. It's not steep and there is beautiful desert that surrounds you the entire time. I would highly recommend it for a family activity or if your looking for a nice quick get-a-way run/walk by yourself it's perfect. It is about a 12 min drive from our house. Parking is at the base of the trail and there is no charge for entering the preserve or for parking.
I'm so glad I took the boys out today we had a great time together. It even started raining while we were on the trail, it so fun to have the rain falling on us as we hiked. Not to mention the smell that was in the air was amazing.
If you want to find additional hiking trails or activities in the South Mountain area Google "South Mountain Preserve" and it will link you to their official web site.
One more nice thing about living the the southwest part of the valley. Hopefully next time we'll be able to have Brandon come along with us. I'm thankful he is willing to work so hard, most often six days a week so that I can stay home with the kids and he never ever complains. Never a complaint even after working 90+ hours a week.

Burrrrr...is it really May?
Can this weather be anymore beautiful? I was out with Shawna at 5:30am and the feeling in the air was sweet. I love waking up to beautiful weather early. I do miss the sun, however it's really pleasant to hear the sound of rain outside the windows. It's been such a blessing to have weather like this when there's no A/C. I was out today and while driving home at 1:20pm the temperature in the van read 54 degrees! Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Zoo trip anyone?
I'm thinking of going to the Phoenix Zoo tomorrow because the weather is supposed to be so nice. I was going to leave around 9am and was wondering if anyone else wanted to go?
Comment, email or call me if you want to come along and invite your friends!

Random Question
Tonight our ward is having an activity kind of like a progressive dinner and our home is one of the luck ones :) So I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to mop my floors...actually I told Brandon it would be a perfect opportunity for HIM to mop the floors. Guess who mopped the floors? Now my leg REALLY hurts...oh well, my floors are clean. They should be mopped more often it looks much nicer.
So if you live in Laveen have you ever visited Stewart Chiropractic on 51st & Baseline? I went there yesterday for my leg and am thinking of going back but would like your thoughts if you've been there. Thanks

Something happened to my leg and now it's a struggle to walk much less run. I haven't been able to exercise but once this week and now because of this it's made me more thankful I have my health. Hopefully I can get the doctor to fix me today, I miss the morning workouts, it's so beautiful in the early morning, it's great to converse with friends and working out is the only thing that gives me energy to wake up at 5-5:30am and last until bedtime. It makes me so thankful I have such great friends to run with...speaking of friends, thank you so much Beth for dinner last night, what a sweet act of service that was. I think Brandon was especially thankful to not have cereal again, considering I'm spending ample time on the couch. Shawna, thank you so much for driving and picking up Carson from school...it's so painful to get in or out of the car and the thought of walking all the way to the preschool room made my leg hurt even worse. Friends are awesome.
Since I didn't workout this morning I was able to read D&C 88. It's a really long section but full of insight.
63 aDraw bnear unto me and I will draw near unto you; cseek me diligently and ye shall dfind me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

I feel this is a good reminder that the spirit is truth and if we but exercise unwavering faith and ask, the Lord will grant our requests...let us ask away!

Yoga for children has incredible benefits both for the physical body and for challenging the mind.
The Children's Yoga Company and it's instructors are also trained to work with special needs children offering additional therapy.
Check out our first summer session in Laveen and watch for the upcoming July session.
Valley wide private instruction is also available!

So Boston has made great strides in his speech over the past month and the biggest came this past week when he started saying "Carson". Carson had been asking "when is he gonna say my name?"
Well...Boston finally said his name and it really is sweet. Now he says it all the time! It's so cute to hear his little voice. He's a sweet little boy.

So I went grocery shopping today and yesterday. I was quite impressed with what I walked out with for what I payed. It's still a learning process but overall I saved about 90% according to my receipt from Fry's...not a bad deal! Now I need to get those CVS Exrta Care Bucks working for me! I told Brandon whatever I save on groceries gets to go into a vacation fund. I do love my vacations.
So we went swimming at a friends home last night...Summer is officially here!!! I love it! Although the water was a little cold and I didn't feel "swim suit ready" I stilled enjoyed being in the pool. Now that I think about it I don't know if I've ever felt swim suit ready...oh well I have a lot more important things to focus on in my life right now, I'm happy I'm healthy and can exercise each day.
OH NO!!! I just heard the Suns lost to the Spurs...poor Brandon he's watching the game right now at a friends house...they DVR'd it because of meetings. Hopefully there won't be any bad attitudes tomorrow over the game. D#%N (that means darn...I would never say the other word :)) Spurs...just let us win one year please. Speaking of DVR's you never new how good you had it till it's gone...ours is gone and I miss it. Time for bed now.

So I just cut my first set of coupons...I've got a headache, need to figure out how to organize them and what a good deal really is. Is it insane or worth the savings? Becky I might take you up on the shopping trip! Now I have to be up in 5.5 hours to go running. I pray I don't forget everything I was reading and all the tips on saving money. We'll see if I make it to the grocery store tomorrow.

I'm thinking I don't like the new look...i'll wait and see if anybody else has something to say...
Today we went to the Laveen Community Celebration. I heard of this through the paper. We weren't planning on attending because of stuff around the house that needed to be done. Brandon however got a call Friday and all the sudden his Saturday was booked. Needless to say I mowed the lawn last week and didn't feel like doing it today so I took the kids to the celebration and left the work to be done later, there's always tomorrow right? I was pleasantly surprised at the events they had. We got to take a ride in a really old fire truck, sit in a helicopter & police car, jump on bouncy things, eat, get lots of stickers & balloons, make slime with a mad scientist and try free samples of different food. We went early, right when it opened and there was no crowd. I was really impressed to see the community put this together we had good free fun. I wished I had known about it earlier because it would have been perfect to have a booth introducing the Children's Yoga Company to the area and have sign ups for the summer classes. I will look into it for next year. Now both boys are asleep and Brandon is on his way back from his appointments in the east valley and we'll be heading off to the stake Bar-b-Que.

Happy Birthday Mom!!
I have to send a "shout out" to my mom...Happy Birthday Mom! You are a wonderful person and a great example of a mother. I can only hope to measure up to your abilities as a mother with my own children. Some of my most happy memories as a child include you. I remember us kids eating multiple pans of brownies you would bake to take on the family vacations. Even if the brownies were all soggy for being in the ice chest in the van they were still yummy and eatable. Having you at all the class parties in school because you were always the "home room mom". Letting us build forts on Sunday afternoon and playing inside with us. Teaching us how to clean...it may not show in my own house, but thanks to you I did learn "cleanliness is next to Godliness". Believing my lies when I came home past curfew! (Really, I think one time there was a flat tire) Hey, at least I didn't get in any big trouble right? Calling the school for me and telling them I was sick even though I was staying home to lay by the pool all day. Sticking up for me in fourth grade when I tried out for cheer leading but then they decided to only let the sixth graders be the cheerleaders. I remember you went down to the school and let one of the teachers have it! Thank you. There are so many great memories. I couldn't have asked for a better childhood or better parents. I Love you, happy 59th Birthday!
The week in review
So another productive week.
Monday...we...actually I have no clue what we did Monday...I don't remember.
Tuesday...we went grocery shopping. This was an experience. I haven't gone "major" grocery shopping for a very long time and for even longer I haven't taken both boys major shopping with me. I managed not to yell at all, we didn't make any big scenes in the store and I didn't buy any junk food to bribe them. We've made progress. The hardest part was keeping Boston by my side, he doesn't like sitting in the cart any more. I also tried to shop with coupons, that was a joke. I signed up for coupon sense but I walked out of the store so ticked because I didn't understand what I was doing and I was irritated at my lack of knowledge. If anyone is really into it and wants to have a tag-along-partner with them next time let me know, I would love for someone to show me the ropes.
Wednesday...Boston got sick. Actually he got sick Tuesday but I thought he was getting teeth in which is no big deal. I worked a little in the morning while both boys were asleep...yes, by 10am I layed both of them down for bed. That's what happens when they wake up at 5:50am. Then I watched my friends kids for the afternoon, 5 kids total and it was actually pretty fun. Poor Boston was still sick though, after eating about two bites of his lunch he pucked everywhere. In a way it was nice because he then just let me hold him for the next few hours. Wednesday night we celebrated mom's 59th birthday and a restaurant with everyone and Julie and Kody came into town. Then we went to the mall to take pictures of all the grand kids together...that was an interesting experience but we did get some cute pictures.
Thursday...Jeaniece and Dustin stayed with us while he worked. We met the Binghams and Colliers at Westgate to let the kids play in the splash pad. I really like the ambiance of that place, not to mention my legs got a killer tan! (Did I mention I LOVE the sun and summer time?) We missed Boston playing with us, he stayed home with Jeaniece and slept cause he was still sick. Then we got home and Brandon, Carson and I went to Kindergarten Round up, that was fun.
Friday...Jeaniece, the kids and I met my dad for lunch and saw the alligator at the mall. Now here I am writing on the blog when I should be working!
I'm thankful Boston is feeling better. I'm thankful we didn't have to go to the doctor. I'm thankful J & D could come down and spend a few days with us. I'm thankful we could see J & K and the kids...hopefully next time we'll be able to see them for longer than a few hours! I'm grateful there are organizations out there to help others save money!

Disneyland March 2008
So it's late Saturday night and I can't sleep, what is going on? Any how I realized I hadn't posted the pictures from our California trip yet. So here are a few...yes only a few. My small camera is still broke and Brandon was with the boys by himself while I was at the yoga training so he didn't want to take the big camera every time they went. I don't blame him...one less thing to possibly get lost.
This is the boys at California Adventure without me :( I wish I could have seen their faces when the got to meet Woody!
This is how much Boston enjoyed the trip! Quick story about the double stroller...I got it from someone in our neighborhood who had obviously moved and was throwing it out. We were leaving in 2 days for our trip and I didn't have a double stroller. Carson doesn't really need a stroller but I knew if I had one I would use it and so would he, especially after long days. Anyhow I took it, Brandon was completely appalled I would take some strangers trash (it was pretty beat up). I put new tires on it, whipped it down and poof...a double stroller (even if the seats were all ripped and were being held up by a bungee cord :)). After having both boys by himself I think he was very grateful he married someone who isn't afraid to be a "dumpster diver!"
So I think this was the most fun and cheapest family vacation we've ever had. 4 days at Disneyland/California Adventure for $160...I bought the tickets off Craig's list! One tank of gas to drive there, one tank to get home. A great hotel for a great rate with a fridge. (Thanks Siddoway's for hooking us up!) I took 90% of our food and we ate in the hotel or packed a lunch to take to the parks. We had a great time and it helped me get my yoga training finished! (Does this post scream I am cheap or what?!)
What 4 & 2 year old boy doesn't want to sit on a fire truck? This is in Toon town on our first day.
